Pros
Free food? Nice location? Rakuten points?
Kontras
No actual benefits: just like any other Japanese company, you don't even have paid sick leave. They hire PMs from abroad but probably don't check their qualifications - these people are more like project managers. The salaries are very low, so they either get people who want to start their career in Japan and see this role as a stepping stone, OR highly incompetent people. The rituals make no sense, especially being required to listen to Mikitani talk every Monday morning at 8 am. While every other major company now allows their employees to chose if/when to work from home, Rakuten still requires you to spend 80% of the time in the office.
