Pros
My time at Raconteur, over two years ago now, was a fantastic entry into sales. Unlike traditional companies where you begin as a business development representative at Raconteur you manage the full 360 process. You get to hear from senior executives their views on industries and it's a great platform to project yourself into a career within sales. Management, albeit immature at times, are always there for you. Toward the end of my tenure, I considered the CEO, for example, a friend as well as a colleague. The one thing that I treasure above all at Raconteur are the friendships and bonds that I made with colleagues in the company that I have not been able to replicate elsewhere. Raconteur was truly a family above company.
Kontras
The constant pressures of publishing a report on time and with the correct revenue could be extremely challenging and exhausting, which consequently meant holidays and time off was near impossible, which was one of my core reasons for moving on. And although the company preached a lot about mental health, for the sales team, practice what you preach was not something that occurred. (I will say this was over 2-years ago and much could have changed since)
