Pros
Great atmosphere at the shop I worked at. Worked there just shy of 4 years and saw a lot of people come and go, some even returning. I got along with everyone and was always happy to see faces in the morning; but nothing in life is easy or perfect. You will bump heads with your family from time to time, but they look out for you. When it was busy, it was BUSY $$$ Annual company picnic was always fun. Owner of the company is an amazing guy, one of the best jobs I’ve had after leaving the military and a huge part of it is due to the atmosphere and sense of family. When they say they treat you like family, they really mean it. That is something I think every company needs to follow because the work days aren’t as stressful when you know they appreciate all of the hard work you do. I never felt like a number. When life happened I was able to take some time off and was checked on regularly until I came back to work.
Kontras
Post Covid kind of took things down a couple notches, manager changes every few months after that were a challenge as well. Old machines/equipment needing service or replacement could make the job harder. When it was slow you felt it in your pocket. Biggest con is that I couldn’t take everyone with me when I left, I really miss them!
