Pros

New product line is excellent. If you enjoy beautiful design, color and quality fabrics and materials, you will enjoy selling these products. Customer service support, which was a huge problem in the past, has reached a new level of excellence. Personnel from the top down are courteous and professional. At store level, associates work very hard but still have fun and generally enjoy their jobs.

Kontras

The company prides itself on it's core values and developing people, but in many cases, those entrusted with developing others are not educated or trained how to do so. Those who are agreeable with corporate inspired teachings do well, those who do not are coached out. If you are metrics driven, this company may not be for you as they believe that sales follow just by having the right people in place and very little emphasis is placed on it. The systems allow very little sophisticated reporting capabilities. There is a tremendous amount of time spent on phones or E-mails sending sales updates because of this. There is a lot of frustration at the customer level waiting for orders to be placed because of the outdated systems.

Pros

One of the strongest aspects of this role is the autonomy. I’m trusted to make decisions that genuinely support the customer experience without constant approval from leadership. If I believe an exchange plus a $250 gift card is the right solution to preserve a relationship, I’m empowered to do that. That level of trust creates confidence and allows us to move quickly when issues arise. Leadership is accessible when needed, especially in escalated situations. I’ve never felt left alone to manage something beyond my scope. There is also regular voluntary overtime available, which is a plus for those looking to increase their hours. For someone transitioning from another industry, the environment feels more structured and brand-focused, which has been refreshing

Kontras

The clientele can be challenging. Some customers assume that spending thousands of dollars entitles them to treat frontline employees disrespectfully, even when those employees had no involvement in the original issue. It can also be frustrating to hold a boundary with a customer, only to see it reversed after escalation. While I understand the desire to preserve relationships, it can unintentionally undermine employee confidence and consistency in standards. Because RH carries so many collections and product variations, the learning curve is steep. Customers often expect immediate, detailed product knowledge, which takes time to develop.
