Pros
1. R2 Logistics opens up at least 4 new offices per year, meaning if you work hard you can become a Branch Manager in under 2 years' time, something that is almost unheard of in the transportation industry. Crazy to see all these people that quit or got fired in less than 2 years because of attitude problems. It's really not that difficult to succeed here. Generally if you work hard, then you end up making more money. Oh, and they will give you a hefty raise each year you work there. 2. You get $1000 commission for each new customer you bring on. They need to just haul 10 loads with the company and make one payment, but it's really not that difficult to bring on new business if you have an ounce of backbone and know how to build relationships. This applies to everyone, not just the managers like some of these reviews state. 3. The company has a commitment to new tech. They constantly upgrade TMS and CRM systems to make sure that we are keeping up with our competition. Also, they just hired the former CEO of Transplace, which was one of the most technologically advanced 3PLs around. 4. The company spends a couple grand per quarter (proportionally to the # of employees) so that each office can get out and do something to thank everyone for their hard word. They subscribe to the motto, "work hard, play hard." and those gatherings are generally a great time.
Kontras
Sometimes the hours can be really long, especially for someone in the Pod Leader or Branch Manager position. You may have to work as the after hours person on holidays such as Thanksgiving or Christmas, which can be tough on moral. It doesn't seem so bad when you think about all the other people who also have to work during those times, but seriously the vacation package is not very competitive at all.
