Decent pay - at a high cost to the individual - and people who seem passionate in at least team meetings

The person I worked with to get onboarded lied that my performance was not satisfactory because it was, and they praised me throughout my time there. They failed to attend a critical meeting, and lied that I was the one who did not attend it. This was communicated to upper management, who terminated my contract solely because they had been at the company for longer - without asking for any evidence, or letting me defend myself. The immediate deletion of my accounts without warning meant I was unable to gather defensive evidence - possibly intentionally. I can prove that Tom, the CEO, told me that the contract was terminated solely due to the claims, which he told me were believed due to the liar's longer tenure at the company. This means that their lies directly led to my serious financial loss of tens of thousands of pounds. I can prove that Tom told me that he was being sued by investors due to my previous review where I accused the company of operating a scam contract, but I do not believe his claim. He told me that he was going to sue me for defamation as a result to "protect" himself. I believe(d) it was a scam contract because my requests for access to necessary systems were ignored repeatedly, my work was suspiciously siloed, and the contract was terminated conveniently just as I'd completed my first task. I believe(d) it was one of the contract term scams where they lie about the duration because they know nobody will agree to a 1-2w contract. When I made a formal request for Tom to preserve evidence and provide chat logs between myself and the liar, he ignored my email, which in my mind indicates complicity. It's entirely possible that he only wanted me for 1-2 weeks, and subsequently instructed the onboarder to fabricate any reason to get rid of me.
