Pros

ProviNET is a great company to start if you're new to the IT industry. You will learn many different skills from basic Windows troubleshooting to hardware to server-side Active Directory to networking issues. The culture at ProviNET is a close family-oriented relationship that you don't get anywhere else. Everybody is there to help and to answer questions, whether you are a new employee or senior. They have paid benefits which are very nice, and will pay for certificates you may pursue. Also, every Friday is casual dress and there are snacks available, along with a chef at the corporate office to make lunch available for 5 dollars a day.

Kontras

As I stated in the pros, ProviNET is great to start for learning multiple skills across the board. However, on the Help Desk especially, you will hit the ceiling of your skills quickly and there is no room to grow. Yes, upper management will tell you you have room to grow, but there is a bit of favoritism at the company and you must "prove" yourself worthy to be promoted to a higher level position, which skill does not show that worthiness (maybe if you're buddies with upper-management or the CIO). The pay you will receive is well under the industry standard compared to what you would get at other IT companies in the suburbs or in the city.

Pros

I've worked for the company for over 10 years and started in a very entry level position, learned a lot of great skills, and moved up through the company. At several junctures in my life, I decided to ask for more responsibility, or to pursue education/new skills that interested me and was given the ability to do so. Things don't always happen quickly, but desires for personal/professional growth are taken seriously and acted upon when feasible. Pay/benefits are competitive (401k, student debt repayment assistance, insurance, PTO, etc.) There are a lot of fun and dedicated personalities on the various teams, with a wide range of experience and skills The company holds a long standing/unique reputation, especially in the senior living IT consulting space as a good company, with its clients best interests at heart, even when it hurts. Client retention and satisfaction seems high. Ability to telecommute and live anywhere in the US. Strong relationships with various affiliations and vendor partnerships that result in a lot of solid "word of mouth" growth.

Kontras

There are times where growing pains are evident and the company may not always be able to move quickly to address staff desires/challenges, but they don't often go ignored.

Pros

Some co-workers are helpful and team players.

Kontras

No room for growth on service desk, most co-workers do not want to collaborate, everyone on the service desk is over worked and burnt out. Workload is non-stop. Customers will verbally abuse you due to lack of training. Broken promises from leadership. Client is always right. Look elsewhere...
