In my experience, getting referrals was not an issue. However, you would be referred cases in the middle of the night with expectation to contact the family day of to schedule your visit. You will be hired as a field worker and won’t ever be given access to the office located in Indianapolis (because management works out of the Merrillville office) therefore, you cannot print any paperwork or assessments needed to be able to function in your role. Communication here is extremely poor; management will not respond to your concerns, but will send you more referrals. PAY - THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR WHEN ACCEPTING A JOB- THIS COMPANY DOES NOT PAY ON TIME AND OFTEN MISSES PAYROLL completely. They will send you an email check that will bounce and you’re responsible for any accrued fees with your bank for something on their part. This company has all their family, including recent high school graduate son with zero experience or social service background, working for them at a higher pay, because no one will keep their job here. The turn over rate is extended high; 4 in 5 new hires quit week one due to poor communication, lack of training and payroll issues. Do yourself a favor, do not accept a job at this agency. They will ruin your finances and resume and they will set you back with employment. They do not value their workers and are unable to properly serve the children they accept referrals for.
