There are some dedicated team members here with great hearts and a lot of knowledge who will always keep their door open to help you. People come to work here to work for the community.
Kontras
Leadership here has fallen out of touch with the employees, you feel micromanaged quite a bit, CEO is not in tune with everything happening in the world and doesn’t value the employees, Coordinators are expected to do other departments jobs without support or an increase of money (expected to fundraise but the person who is supposed to bring in money has only brought in one partner thus far and is making way more money than the coordinators), the regional managers have a lot of work and always get blamed when things go wrong, there are not many opportunities to move up within the company, salary and raises are low but it is public knowledge the CEO and senior leadership make more than triple anyone else even though they do less than half the work, if you work in the Programs Department you will not be valued by anyone other than the Program Directors (they are the only ones who care) and it used to be a different place. There was a time when you felt you could bring your ideas and feel valued and that time is long gone now. There is an attempt to change org culture by an internal group called The Culture Club, however, it is challenging for a few employees to make a difference when the CEO and other senior leadership have not even attended one culture club event. They are noticeably absent on any of those matters but happily speak AT us during their town hall meetings which are very awkward with no one wanting to interact with a CEO who does not care. The only thing that will change is if the company gets new leadership. Yes, most places have leaders who seem a bit removed from other departments but at this point it seems willful. Further, the lack of diversity gives a whole new dimension to this. The only reason why most people are staying is because there are not many jobs available right now.
