Pros
-Genuinely amazing and kind people who work there with hearts of gold -Small firm, under 10 people so very intimate 1-1 training and opportunities for mentorship -Unlimited time off, no counted sick days or travel so you have freedom to do you. Many places require you to accrue time off over time, and based on seniority. - Laid back culture, not corporate and uptight snobs at all. Down to earth culture. - Willing to learn and work on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion but still LONG way to go.... -Flexible, will work with your schedule and absolutely meet you where you are at.
Kontras
-Because its so small when work is busy "work life balance" goes out the window... crazy hours and burnout for sure happen - High turnover rate... - Not much structure, in terms of tracking hours- which can be good to not be micromanaged but there is also a sweet spot. Some hour tracking is necessary for time management and ensuring projects are efficient - Emotional burnout, as community outreach specialist get put on all the heavy mission driven projects that don't have as high of a budget but feed your soul. It's great to love what you do, but you need balance. Be sure to set up boundaries on the quantity and types of projects you accept. - 90% white staff... need more diversity, can feel isolating. - If you speak Spanish, add $10k minimum for your salary in addition to whatever they are offering you...you'll use it A LOT
