Pros

Dan and his team are the most driven and hardworking individuals I have ever worked with. Walking into work everyday with an extremely comfortable and welcoming atmosphere made it fun and exciting. A culture where work can be also be fun too. From the time I've worked here, I can say that Dan and the team are all very dependable, and exceeds expectations in the many aspects of the tech industry. From the amount of effort they put in executing each issue arisen, to the way they handle obstacles in the most professional and timely manner. Working here has been very rewarding with a persevering team just as ambitious and diligent.

Pros

PCS is a small company transitioning toward a mid sized company every day Processes are becoming better defined, and our technical staff are collectively getting better all the time. PCS is a great place to start and/or advance your career in IT. If you're the type of person who is hungry for information and is willing to go the extra mile, you will advance faster that probably any other IT company. The barriers to being involved in projects or highly complicated systems is low, and we have each others back so if our techs get into something above the knowledge level, they've learned they can ask for help and get it. Leaving our clients trusting our expertise and more so our team. One of our core values is be conscious of precious resources of time and energy. Of your own, of your co-workers, and of your clients. Efficiency is key, but also being conscientious of each others time and energy helps everyone perform, learn, and prevent stress. Also we have a ping pong table, company functions roughly every other week. Oh and snacks.

Kontras

While there are "pros" of being a small company there are also cons. With small companies, many people wear many hats, job descriptions are commonly broad. We have a loose hierarchical structure which CAN result is low work. One way of interpreting that is that if you're a tier 1 technician, you won't just be entering tickets, answering phones and changing passwords. More likely you'll be onsite doing user on-boarding and deployments or diagnosing complicated issues. In other words, people aren't cordoned off to "you only do this". And for some people, that lack of structure is a con.

Pros

1. Lots of opportunities to learn, from basic hardware troubleshooting to networking and network security; 2. Most of the employees are very supportive of each other; 3. Free snacks and coffee.

Kontras

1. Lack of documentation: the company really needs to work harder on documenting standards and procedures to make the job on both help desk and onsite visits more effective. 2. Although we learn a lot on the job by getting our hands dirty, we are not able to reserve some time during work hours to study for certification exams, which would benefit both the employees and the company itself.
