Pros

No shortage of work to be done Association with high caliber industry professionals Really great benefits, and the highest 401k matching contribution at a whopping 15%. No micromanagement No corporate culture; localized private firm sets the ground rules and makes you play by them very quickly.

Kontras

No relevance to actual marketing work - graphic design at minimum, but abandon any hope of ever leading an SEO campaign, using paid search, optimizing sites, or doing anything you learned in school. The industries these professionals are in are probably not even close to the ones you'd like to get into in your marketing career. Billed time is scrutinized over time, being the first metric used to evaluate you in the event that your integrity is questioned. Management will onboard you with the notion that it isn't a big deal when filling out your timesheet, but be prepared to make your own tracking offline in the event that you need to defend your integrity. A lack of micromanagement speaks for an overall lack of guidance, direction, or mentorship. No one will have time for you other than to check on your progress or ask for submissions. The ground rule is that you have to fit into a mold. If you don't or someone decides they don't like you, your working experience becomes a daily question of its worth.

Pros

Many talented and compassionate staff who genuinely care about the work. Some teams still try to support one another despite organizational challenges. Benefits and time off are competitive.

Kontras

Significant leadership changes have resulted in confusion, low trust, and inconsistent communication. Micromanagement has become common, and feedback is often delivered harshly rather than constructively. Employees are not empowered to do their jobs and often feel scrutinized rather than supported.
