Pros

Interesting and innovative product that has a mission (in theory)

Kontras

The worst place I've ever worked, bar none. The founders (Kim and Josh) are married, which they never disclose to anyone, and bring their personal drama into the work place (crying, drama, you name it. awk.) There are constant layoffs and the founders always hide and make sure they're out of town. They have never been present for a layoff, instead sending off lackees to deal with dirty work. they are uncaring humans who dont know how to manage a team or a budget. The founders have no idea how to sell a product and actively disregard customer feedback, calling buyers names behind their backs in internal meetings. this disrespect clearly flows into how they treat sales. they bought a tesla cybertruck with no regard to how customers would react (hint: not good!) huge waste of money. they treat their black employees particularly badly, with a layoff orchestrated to fire one person. no marketing. cfo enables poor behavior. shady finances. investors either dont care or have no clue. run far far away.

Pros

Some genuinely talented employees at the mid-level who try to make the best of a difficult environment. Interesting market space with potential if managed responsibly.

Kontras

Dysfunctional and unqualified leadership. Founders routinely ignore employee and customer feedback, even when backed by data or frontline experience. They are resistant to ideas not their own and often react defensively when challenged. Toxic culture and manipulation. Despite referencing management books and startup jargon, leadership frequently engages in passive-aggressive behavior, favoritism, and gaslighting. Teams are pitted against each other, and public shaming of employees is not uncommon. Avoidance and lack of accountability. During layoffs (which are frequent and poorly communicated), managers often hide rather than facing uncomfortable conversations directly. Ethical and HR concerns. Serious HR complaints have often been ignored or inadequately addressed. Nepotism is common, including multiple family hires. The founders are married but do not disclose this to employees, creating transparency and governance concerns.
