Pros
Most staff has a genuine interest in seeing kids succeed. Decent pay for starting with some experience. Acceptable evaluation system in place for teachers.
Kontras
The network-wide, upper level of admin is maybe just short of inept with implementing in less than a year a SBG (Standards-Based Grading) format to assessing students that is unfounded and experimental. Some classes at the school I worked in Kentwood were rolled out without curriculum to start the school year when SBG was adopted. This is careless and does not support the best interests of students or teachers. Many important assessments (called "formal assessments" or FAs) were built on the fly without attention to actual unit planning. Noticeable divide in school between support of AP classes and students who do not take AP. No new tech given to teachers upon hire and an odd reliance on Google Drive for such a large organization.
