Pros
Nothing outstanding to make Pernod Ricard a distinctive employer
Kontras
A decentralized organization with each business unit having a different way of working, so leads to confusion and segregation. Many senior leaders have been with company for years so do not have an appreciation of a what a progressive, empowering, trusting culture means to individuals who are trying develop their career. Hierarchical, which stems from their French heritage, with their global team (based in Paris) made up of only 20% international employees – diversity is clearly not a priority. Development & succession planning is non-existent, people can be stuck in the same roles for years: reason, HR & hiring managers only focus on the role you are currently doing now rather than your capability and potential. Also HR like to throw in some very weird and non-relevant questions: if you were a cocktail what would you be? Very, very slow to adapt to external issues/trends. Only just now focusing on digital and ecom.
