Managers/Project Engineers pick favorites and if you are not in well with them, you feel disconnected and there is little chance of succeeding in the future. Secondly, the work you do for the actual job, isn’t engineering work. A recent high school grad would have no trouble performing the tasks in this job. Thirdly, your work schedule constantly changes on a day to day basis. You could find out you need to travel out of state for work less than 24 hours of departure time. This makes it impossible to plan things outside of work and leaves for little work-life balance.
