great company to get student housing experience. Also a good job if you're a student and need a decent job with a discount.

there is a lack of communication with upper management and the onsite teams. Everyone in corporate has been with the company for 5+ years and would not dare to work onsite. They like "working from home" where they can basically do nothing and get top dollar. I dont blame them! Whenever an onsite staff would ask questions or express concerns, corporate would be extremely slow with getting things done. Also, theres so many properties they hire any manager they can get asap. with out checking any references or really vetting the employee to see if they are a good fit. then once hired they "cannot fire them" because they are too scared to get sued. our ownership was so out of touch and had unrealistic expectations. If you're new to student housing good luck learning everything, Peak is not the best when it come to Training unless you have a manager whos been with the company for years. They also like to put managers on salary so that they can work crazy overtime. The company is extremely cheap and ends up paying for it in the end. Instead of giving a pay raise to current employees, Peak would rather fly out a Leasing specialist, pay for hotels, rental cars and flights.

I feel incredibly fortunate to work for a company that truly lives out its values.
