Pros

Pay potential (but really not worth the toxic environment)

Kontras

When I was approached by the recruiter, while excelling at another company in sales, she made Paycom sound like a dream in terms of flexibility, bring dog into the office, huge payout in your first year, 95% retention rate of reps, immediately start seeing sales come in, etc... Virtually none of it was true. No dogs at work, 50% retention rate or less for new reps, won't see a sale possibly all year, etc. Without literally any training you are expected to be on the phones in the first few weeks cold-calling CEOs without the ability to answer questions or fight objections, the actual training is entirely virtual and very awkward as you are constantly put on the spot- definitely not a "safe" learning environment. It is absolutely expected that you work 10-12 hour days, without lunch breaks from the very beginning. My training literally started at 11AM and went for four hours. The "homework" and calls required are obscene as you are trying to learn a new product. The actual training was clunky and confusing, as it was all virtual and felt like the trainer was trying to sell us on her lavish lifestyle the entire time by dropping hints about the money she makes and providing very little hard skills for the job. My interactions with my actual manager were unsympathetic and cold - they are obviously 100% money driven and not concerned with the human. Its also worth noting that the benefits are not great. I was confused as to why employees brag about it because maternity leave, days off, medical, absolutley all offerings are the worst I've had and my interactions with HR were terrible.

Get to meet new people every day, the environment and culture is amazing, and I am always welcomed wherever I go!

Kontras

Stressful getting the hang of things. Took a couple months. Very worth sticking around because there is great potential to move up.

Pros

- Base salary - PTO - Awesome colleagues - $1 Medical PPO offering

Kontras

- Upper leadership seem to not value the operations department as much as they do with sales. They are not consistent as well, which causes them to change the entire department's job description, expectations, & commission structure every few months. Change is good but huge change every 3-4 months is so exhausting. - They overload you with too many clients to handle while increasing the number of internal calls. When asking for support from sales or middle management, its typically a hard negotiation or non-existent. Expect to work way over 40 hours/week and juggle 10-20+ clients at a time. - Sales will oversell on product & implementation expectation which makes the job 1000% harder. Turnover with sales is extremely high so don't expect for even the best reps stay as they either leave, get fired because quota was not met, or the new manager will cut them if they're "not the vibe". You get left with the newbies who does not know how to sell or support you when you need them. - Every role in this company has high turnover in general. Making it very hard to cross collaborate with other departments as everyone is either extremely swamped or new to the role and cannot support as well, - Being forced to go to Oklahoma for training every year, sometimes twice a year.
