Used to be a wonderful tech company for any aspiring engineer to work in in early 2000s. Great starting salaries and bonuses. Great exposure to high tech stuff. Went for tech conferences every year in SIA. Great recreation room with pool and Xbox and massage chair. Immersed in great Japanese work culture when you worked overseas with the Japanese people. Super professional. Super dedicated and super polite and nice.
Kontras
Every recession, management cut expenses to show they did their part in cost cutting. Lesser travel allowance, lesser overall benefits. In later part of 2000, staffs were overloaded with work as they hired less to cut expenses. Every new comer employed under contract terms. Loyal GMs who worked for many years were asked to go. No longer a stable Japanese company to work for.
