Work is challenging and allows a variety of projects. Able to work without a lot of direct supervision or intrusion. Decent bonus at the end of the year based on a pre-set percentage of salary. Very good work/life balance, at least in my department. If you stay on task, you shouldn't need to work 40 hours per week often.
Kontras
Promotion only occurs if there is a vacant opening in a higher level position. If you are promoted, they are unlikely to negotiate on your new salary, despite negotiating when you were first hired.
