Pros
No mandatory lay offs so far
Kontras
After talking about all the excellent work people have been doing during work-from-home, CEO revealed that mandatory return to office will begin almost as soon as the county will let them. After a brief period of 50% in office at a time, continuing to work from home will come with a 10% pay cut unless you have medical documentation for 'risk factors'. It is not clear if age or what age would be accepted as a risk, and the workforce is generally older. They are doing the bare minimum to prepare the office for Covid. Some furniture will be moved further apart. No partitions will be put up. There are requesting masks in 'common areas' only. There are no restrictions on the number of elevator occupants. Earlier this year, they removed the floor based stations for hot water, coffee, and microwaves and are now sending five floors of office staff to one room for kitchen items. They are not going to change this policy for Covid. They also announced that they have no intention of closing down floors and returning to work from home if an outbreak occurs. They will simply send the people sitting closest into quarantine. If they are treating office workers in this way, I cannot imagine what they are doing to in the field workers who truly need to be onsite to perform their essential service. Please stay as safe as you possibly can.
