Pros

In my experience, there is minimal micromanagement, which enables employees to work efficiently with a high degree of autonomy. A diverse range of industry projects provides opportunities to gain experience across various sectors within the chemical industry. Long-term employees (7+ years) are highly supportive and eager to mentor and train newer team members.

Kontras

In my opinion, there is little to no opportunity for upward mobility, as the organization operates laterally, with everyone reporting to a single individual. Communication is often ineffective and inefficient. Younger employees may initially be drawn in by the prestige of working with well-known companies but soon realize that growth opportunities are minimal. Compensation remains stagnant, and requests for performance reviews or salary increases are frequently ignored. When annual reviews do occur, employees should expect below-market offers and must advocate strongly for fair compensation, and even then will not receive it. There are a lot of new hires, while not inherently an issue, receive minimal onboarding. Many start on a Thursday or Friday and are expected to work directly with clients on a new project by Monday, leading to inconsistent project execution and quality concerns. This also speaks to the frequent turnover within the company, as there are many low performers, or people who do not bring value into the company (billable work). The role requires extensive travel, often with little notice—including international assignments. Employees are frequently asked to sacrifice weekends for travel, with little regard for personal well-being. Additionally, flights and accommodations are often inconveniently arranged. The company has numerous opportunities for growth—whether through new technologies, innovative workflows, grants, or proposals. However, its current structure prevents the proper allocation of resources needed to capitalize on and pursue these opportunities effectively.
