Pros
- Good experience: Being one of the more pronounced yet still distinctively independent (not a seed company with a larger multi finance corporation behind, see Ant Financial) financial technology company in China, PINTEC in itself is a great learning opportunity. - Amazing boss/handlers: Everything was handled professionally; can't speak for other departments but the IR/Finance departments were great - Substantial/ Impactful work to do: Though there were few instructions given, there was lots of feedback; overall very hands-on, which was surprising, especially for an intern - Pronounced projects: around 2 a day, one from morning to early afternoon, and the other afternoon to early evening - Flexible hours
Kontras
- Not really a Con, but I think if you are not fluent in working/professional Chinese, PINTEC could be a challenge. It takes time to understand the industry jargon, but having to do it in both English and Chinese makes it harder - Normal working hours start around 9:30am/10:00am, but can last to 6:30pm/7pm -- Of course you could leave early, but the office is usually 60-70% full right up until 8pm
