Pros

Most people were nice to work with

Kontras

I think maybe I was hired at a chaotic period, but there were a lot of issues with me getting paid on time. They didn't offer alternate forms of payment and only offered sending checks in the mail. My first check was lost in the mail. One of them took over a month to arrive and the other 2 took around 2 weeks to get here, this was very financially destabilizing. I understand maybe having issues on the first check, but my impression was that they couldn't afford to pay me on time. This company felt like working for a start up, but it's run by much older people who have been in business for over 30 years. I was told my first week I could only work 30 hours at most for training, which was fine even though it was advertised to be a full time position. My supervisor Cynthia seemed to not have time to train/onboard me and after the first week and in the following weeks they didn't give me enough tasks for even 20 hours of work. It never improved at all and there was no communication about how I would begin working full time. It was extremely unprofessional and I've never experienced anything like that in my over 10 years of working in similar fields. My manager had a really difficult time communicating what she wanted and it was like when a boomer prints a photo and writes in scribble on the margins and sends a photo via email to decipher what they want. They just had a very condescending all over the place communication style and she blamed others on her team for not understanding her. I'm a woman and this was a surprising thing to experience from another woman. I ended up being let go and replaced with other contract designers who I believe they could pay less. I think they primarily only hire contract workers so they don't have to pay for their health insurance or other benefits. If you are desperate for a job, I won't say that you should take an offer from them, but just know what you're getting into. This is just my experience with the creative department and even though I was let go a while ago, it was such an incredibly bad experience that I just wish I never took the job

Pros

Ability to learn new skills and work in different areas due to small company size.

Kontras

Company doesn't have ability to surpass initial startup phase and has been around for 30+ years. Lacks organization, culture, and effective leadership.
