Pros

- Remote work - Unlimited PTO - Flexible schedules - Knowledgable colleagues - Great learning opportunity

Kontras

Colleague morale was very high when I started at Origami. Colleagues were motivated to collaborate together, and clients were happier. As we’ve grown, I’ve seen colleague morale and client satisfaction take a sharp nosedive due to increased expectations and increased workloads. The company seems to be solely focused on growth and has forgotten about client and colleague satisfaction. We have been through many organizational changes that have been difficult, vague, and constantly evolving. We are understaffed in many departments and will not be hiring for relief until we prove the value of the newer roles, which is impossible when we’re all doing two jobs at once and are still being asked to do more and more outside of our job descriptions. Colleagues are getting burned out, and clients are getting frustrated. Communication about the organizational changes has been horrible both internally and externally. I wish Origami would revert back to the way it was years ago.

Pros

When I joined, the company seemed so alive and well. We have a solid list of high profile clients and seem to do well in the industry. There are a lot of talented and motivated people here.

Kontras

New C-suite management has brought in a lot of process and structural changes. I wouldn't quite call it micro-management yet, but it seems to be headed in that direction. The metrics being used to measure performance has actually slowed us down quite a bit (admittedly, not all of it is bad, but a lot of it is). We're currently undergoing some restructuring (mass layoffs). Perhaps it is a move in the right direction given the momentum of AI tools in this day and age, but these "growing pains" are effecting the livelihoods of the workers here. It's going to get worse before it gets better. To be fair, it may be an industry-wide phenomenon.
