Pros
The day-to-day people were great to work with. Everyone tried to help as much as possible. Great client base to work with and able to work from home.
Kontras
My company was bought by Open Solutions along with our client base so that is how I ended up employed by them. Before we were acquired by the Carlyle Group and went private, the company was not bad place to work. Nice working conditions and felt like a real part of the company. After Carlyle, the company changed for the worse. In recent years, pay freezes, non-pay work furloughs, cut in benefits and non-match of 401K. They did have a raise and very small bonuses this past year. All this was done to avoid layoffs, but they are happening all of the time. As others have stated the severance is a joke. Most companies will give at least one week of pay for each year worked, but not Open Solutions. With all of the staff cuts, or people leaving on their own you have to question the delivery of a quality product. Morale of the staff is horrible and everyone is thinking when is it my turn, and the bad thing is management does not care. Look at all of the one and two ratings since the beginning of 2011. In a tough economy that says it all.
