Pros

I made some great friends at One Digital, none of whowork there any longer.

Kontras

Toxic work environment, micromanagement, harassment issues, pressure to make immoral sales, poor communication, gaslighting, restrictive break policies. My time at One Digital, formerly known as HealthWorks, was overshadowed by a toxic work environment that I could no longer endure. The workplace culture was poisoned by passive-aggressiveness, with managers incessantly micromanaging every aspect of agents' work, eroding any sense of autonomy or creativity. What's even more troubling is the prevalence of harassment, particularly targeting women, which management failed to address, perpetuating an unsafe environment for many of us. In addition to the pressure to make sales at any cost, even at the expense of ethical standards which often led agents to influence elderly individuals to switch healthcare plans against their best interests. These sales were how agent made their bonus (not commission). However, this payout was not guaranteed because the plan had to be active for at least 30 days. Often times sold leads were sent to another agent within the company as an inbound clearly depicting a lack of regard for agents time & efforts. Employees were subjected to poor communication and gaslighting from management. The company also implemented a restrictive policy allowing only 30 minutes of personal time away from our desks daily, creating additional stress and anxiety in an already oppressive environment. Expressing basic needs such as time off for emergencies, family obligations, or medical appointments was met with dismissal and manipulation, further exacerbating the toxic atmosphere. Promises of improvements, such as mental health days, were made by high management but consistently brushed aside, illustrating a lack of genuine concern for employees' well-being. Furthermore, the relocation process to Willis Tower was a nightmare, with employees only being informed of the moving date the night before via email, showcasing a complete disregard for their welfare. In conclusion, I cannot in good conscience recommend One Digital as a place of employment. The toxic culture, micromanagement, harassment issues, pressure to make immoral sales, poor communication, gaslighting, and restrictive break policies overshadow any potential benefits the job may offer.

Pros

Strong company culture focused on taking care of employees and clients. Excellent place to work, as long as you're willing to put in the time and effort.

Kontras

Not necessarily a con. Still a relatively young, and growing firm that is building out structure.

Pros

The people you meet while working at OneDigital are genuinely great, and I’ve formed several lasting friendships during my time there.

Kontras

Employees are often treated as numbers rather than individuals, with performance measured by metrics that are frequently outside of their control. Upper management regularly sets or changes performance expectations without effectively communicating those changes to frontline agents, making it difficult to meet evolving standards. Employees are also closely monitored, including being timed when using the restroom. Arriving even one minute late can result in a write-up, while upper management is often able to arrive 5-10 minutes late without consequence. During peak seasons, employees are expected to work 10-hour shifts, six days a week. When business slows, the office closes for two weeks, leaving hourly employees without pay. While there is an opportunity to earn back some of that lost income by working additional hours during peak season, it is not guaranteed. Overall, there is a noticeable disconnect between upper management and the day-to-day realities of the job. Many decisions and expectations do not reflect the challenges employees face in the current market, leaving staff feeling unsupported and undervalued.
