Some good people there! (that need to get out while they still can!)

Senior managers will tear you a new one if you ask for help, you are just a number to them. Staff turnover is crazy, you will be working with new people every week! You will not have any opportunities to grow and develop new skills, OGL is where careers go to die. I don't see the company lasting much longer in today’s climate. The lack of knowledge and the weakness of senior staff is laughable.

We are proud of our established prof.ITplus software which was developed in 2000 as it has served our customers well for many years, however, our newest ERP solution Profit4, which was launched in 2022 has been built on the latest technology, so we are somewhat confused as to which 1980 product you are referring to. We also haven’t employed any Junior Developers (which is the role you have referenced) recently, as we recognise that we need experienced and talented Developers to ensure Profit4 delivers the latest features and functionality that our customers expect. We are proud to celebrate our 50th anniversary in business this year and have a great blend of long-standing staff (over 60% with more than 5 years’ service and an amazing 42% over 10 years) who have been with us for many years as well as our newest members of staff who bring a fresh perspective. With the anomalies that you reference and the lack of knowledge about our business, are you sure you have reviewed the right company?

Pros

Watch terrible managers in their natural habitat and learn exactly what not to do when you eventually escape. You'll collect plenty of horror stories and "what not to do" examples for future interviews. Your ego will be regularly crushed by incompetent decisions from above, keeping you very grounded.

Constant stress, anxiety, and burnout become the norm rather than the exception. Dealing with toxicity, favouritism, gaslighting, and backstabbing. Below-market pay, stingy benefits, or "we're a family" excuses when asking for raises. Good people leave constantly, leaving you with even more work and a revolving door of panicked new hires. An environment that is great for building character and funny war stories, but terrible for your career trajectory, happiness, and long-term well-being.
