Pros
You are your own boss. You can make your own schedule. Let them know when you’re available, and they will book you on those days. If you’re not available, you don’t have to beg for days off. Working registry means you don’t have to be involved in the “politics” of the facility. You can go in, do your job, and leave. If you don’t like the place you go, you never have to go back. The phones are answered 24 hours a day. There is always a cheerful voice at the other end. If there’s ever any issue, they are your advocate. It’s so easy to submit your timesheets, and you get paid every week. They are caring, understanding, and professional. It is truly a pleasure working with them.
Kontras
A challenge working for any registry is having to take care of your own standard deductions for taxes, retirement, and such. There are no benefits for health insurance, but that’s also the price you pay with most, if not all agency work.
