Pros

Incredibly intelligent members with varied backgrounds and outlooks make working at NextFab a great experience. Employees are also some of the best educated and creative people in the area. Classes and skills are free to staff and leadership encourages that everyone be adept with machinery and software.

Kontras

Most incompetent management experience in over 20 years of working across several industries. The amount of dishonesty and mistrust at the top of the company trickles into everything and taints it. Though it's encouraged that staff learn how to use equipment, it's a ruse - not only is it difficult to find time in one's personal life to take the classes, as work days are long and stressful, but the ulterior motive is not to foster creativity in employees, but to abuse them. Staff with basic knowledge in anything served as supervisors in shops with dangerous equipment because this place is a revolving door and they never have enough employees. Once an individual overcomes the soul-crushing blow that occurs when working there, they leave. Very little room for advancement.

Pros

Fun and energetic place to work. A lot of the staff is young and ambitious, making for a great environment. Many people willing to share their specific knowledge and help others grow. Upper management was always kind and easy to work with.

Kontras

Really don't have much to say about any cons. I loved working here.

Pros

Very cool members and exposure to interesting projects and startup ventures. Free classes and access to the workshop equipment.

Kontras

Upper management so far removed from the day to day operations, they have no idea what can be accomplished in a set amount of time with the number of people performing blended roles (more than one job.) Constantly shifting priorities due to a reactionary culture. There is no real business plan so all one can do is respond to shiny object syndrome thinking this new initiative is gonna change the whole outlook and finally make it a profitable company. Toxic leadership that insinuates you should be grateful for being offered a pay cut.
