Pros

My immediate team is wonderful, along with my manager. Benefits are great (in my opinion) - mental health care, medical and dental benefits, VTO (volunteer time off), PTO, sick time, Wellness Days and a 1-week shutdown per year between Christmas and New Years. There are employee groups to join to help gain a sense of community. We have a hybrid work environment, which is manager dependent - my manager chooses to let us be remote! Overall, NetApp has a great company culture and does seem to care about your personal well being.

Kontras

Tools are clunky to use and don’t all talk to each other so sometimes you get different information. KPIs and KSOs tend to change each half, which is hard to keep up with. Because of this, commission pay is hard to understand and can sometimes be incorrect and you have to work with the Comp Team to get this corrected. There are also times where it feels that there is a big disconnect between upper leadership/management and the individual contributors. As an individual contributor, I find that there are a lot of new policies being put into place that slow down the effectiveness/efficiency of me doing my job.

Pros

Amongst the top companies in the data storage industry = company stability.

Kontras

If you'd ask me a year or 2 ago, I would have given the company 5 stars. But, as with most tech companies now, they've started to follow the trend of return to office, regardless of logic. There's little to no room for exceptions and the company would rather sacrifice productivity regardless if they know the hardships for people living in metros (one way commute to the NY or SJC office can take 2 hours one way!) - that and there's no commuter benefits. You have to pay out of pocket and live in fear of not receiving your bonus if you miss the "thrive together" quarterly requirements.
