Good salaries and some departments are good about promoting from within.
Kontras
First of all, management excels at the "shoot first, ask questions later theory", and doesn't apologize when they are wrong. Employees are expected to work beyond regular business hours and are subject to reprimand if they let their personal life get in the way of working well into the evening, even if your task doesn't have a deadline. The atmosphere in HQ is oppressive. There is little to no interaction between employees and I don't recall ever hearing someone laugh.
