Pros

- Offers remote working but that is changing now to two days - Takes user feedback seriously - Very transparent with business performance - Monthly staff events are encouraging

Kontras

- Good talent will leave the business within a year and nothing will be done to keep them - Too many stakeholders can delay the outcome of your tasks - There is a culture to keep things as they are and not try anything new - No career oppourtunity - Culture deck is pretty rude and bland - Poor pay - no real benefits but they are changing that lately - lengthy probation period

Thank very much for taking the time to leave feedback. We are pleased you appreciated our transparency and the monthly social events at Mumsnet. We are fully committed to flexible, hybrid working - we ask people to come in a couple a days a week because we think that there are benefits in the form of learning, creativity, friendship and fun but we've always tried to be flexible when it comes to individual circumstances/working around family or caring responsibilities. I'm sorry you weren't keen on our culture deck; we try to be as straightforward and honest as we can and we're often told that it provides useful insight but we appreciate we aren’t the right fit for everyone. We will certainly take a look at your feedback on sick pay during probation to make sure we're being fair and competitive. Thanks for raising it and best of luck with what you go on to do next.

Pros

Work life balance is great until its changed for no legitimate reason. Great to work for a company that has a real world impact on parents and specific womens issues. Some great people on all the different teams who are great at their jobs and provide great support.

Kontras

Management offers lip service to feedback and company values while failing to act on either. A bereaved team member was told any leave beyond one week would come out of annual leave a stark example of the disconnect between Mumsnet's public image and internal reality for staff. Culture is cliquey and siloed, with playground dynamics between teams and bad behaviour routinely ignored when flagged. Confidence is actively knocked through micromanagement, diary monitoring, and a CRO who publicly calls out sales staff for childcare issues. No real progression, no meaningful training, and proactive ideas are stamped out. The bonus scheme is confusing, changes frequently, and sits well below industry standard. Mandatory socials and WFH register-taking add to the controlled atmosphere. The overall environment feels cult-like particularly around senior leadership.
