Pros
Decent budgets, 1 out of my 3 managers during my time was good and took the time to be a manager. Good people lower down in the business. Good team spirit and social. Sample sales are good.
Kontras
Lots of middle aged white men talking over the women. Very underhand in getting you out of the business if they no longer want you. Back room politics and deliberately withholding advice and development support to be held against you when it's time for the chop. You're on your own. Look out for yourself. Lots of people have disappeared "sick" for weeks and then decided to "explore other opportunities". They don't listen to the experts they've hired, only look at the bottom line and force you into incorrect tactics based on your knowledge and experience. Trapped in a cycle of discounts at the time. Hopefully COVID has broken that. You go into meetings expecting to be tripped up. Total blame culture. Literally heard "who made that decision, I want to know". Not "what was the decision based on, let's learn for next time". Honestly don't want to step foot in any Moss Bros store again, even though i was head office. You don't realise how safe you should feel at work until you leave. Deeply uneven pay across roles at the same level within the same department.
