I worked at MCC for nearly 2 and a half months during which I had my worst job experience. I was referred to them through a staffing agency for the afternoon shift and under a probationary period of three months. However, they let me go along with 6 other new employees after a few months for no good reason. A typical day at the metal shop area includes reading drawings and welding of metal casings and kits used in assembly of HVAC systems. You are supposed to follow work orders and get them ready by the end of the shift. There is no training provided and you are expected to perform as good as their experienced employees from the first weeks otherwise you will be getting a sharp reprimand whether it's your very first mistake or not! Co-workers are mostly South Asians, so are supervisors and the plant manager. Some are really friendly and nice, and well... some not! Specially those who I worked with. Anyway, be cautious and DO NOT trust anyone at this place unless you think you know them very well, like any other places you step in for the first time. The hardest or better to say the most disappointing part of the job is when you put all you can into work but at the end not only you are not appreciated, but to be asked to stay more focused and more responsible, like it's not been enough and will never be!! The only enjoyable -and also interesting!- part of the job was length of the breaks. People leave their work about 5 minutes before breaks and get back to work 3-5 minutes after the time they are supposed to. They also leave 5-6 minutes before lunch and start work nearly 10 minutes after the 20-minute arranged lunchtime by the company. I'm pretty sure that senior managers wouldn't find it as enjoyable as some of the employees do. In a nutshell, I believe that new employees strongly suffer from gang mentality in the workplace what I think is either systematically planned by supervisors, lead hands and some of senior employees or due to poor performance of the HR in handling such situations at Mobile Climate Control.
