The organization has a poor history of management, inadequate safety standards for mountain equipment outside of the lifts, and weak environmental protection practices. The mountain frequently smells of overflowing septic systems, spilled diesel fuel, and hydraulic oil. There appears to be a good-ol’-boys club mentality, and the operation often functions more like a salvage yard than a properly maintained mountain facility. Management seems more focused on an unrealistic expansion plan than addressing the existing infrastructure, which has been poorly maintained and mismanaged for years. The workload placed on a small, under-equipped shop is severe, especially given the expectation that worn-out equipment be maintained to a safe operating standard.
