Pros

Great colleagues, flexible working hours, lots of self-learning.

Kontras

While there are some perks to the jobs (great co-workers, all very supportive, hard working and has fun together), the biggest CON of the job (emphasis on the con) is the founder. Doesn't respect others boundaries - calls or text after hours and even weekends. Lack of direction in the business, often changes mind on how to do things or letting her team run with things. Gives no feedback, instead will passively communicate what doesn't work. Tries to create a culture of 'self-help' and positive energy - so desperate to be seen as 'mom entrepreneur' as part of the brand image, yet internally doesn't practice what they preach at all. Makes others doubt themselves because of deep seated personal insecurities projected onto others. Save yourself, and don't waste your time in this place.

Pros

- Quality products - Friendly colleagues - Prime locations (Queen St. + Distillery District) - Room for growth (IF you fit a certain image and/or founder likes you)

Kontras

There's lots of favouritism on the founder’s part—despite having seniority over many of the newer faces and driving consistent sales, I was still passed up on better opportunities within the company. People who tend to be hired definitely have to fit a certain preppy, bubbly, and all-around positive image. The company also claims to value positivity and diversity, which is somewhat visible from the outside, but there's a noticeable divide between the sales associates and upper management/office staff, internally. You weren’t allowed to have an off day regardless of the circumstance (I.e., stress, mental illness, and other personal issues) because if you did, you'd be called out for having a "negative attitude". It got to the point where I had to plaster on a smile just to keep the management team satisfied during my final few months with the company. These are only a few reasons as to why the company continues to have a high employee turnover rate and is constantly restructuring. Long story short, the sales and overall image of the company is all that seems to matter to the founder. The mental health and wellbeing of her staff are NOT a priority.
