Pros
They can get you on-site, contract work at tech giants.
Kontras
TL;DR - Be very careful moving forward with MindSource on a contract role for a major tech company. MindSource is very much in business for themselves and will not go out of their way to help you. You will also likely be 3 levels removed from the actual company/product you are working on as there is a middle company between MindSource and the tech giant where you are on-site. Just be aware of what you are getting yourself into and good luck. If I could do it again, knowing what I know now, I would not have opted to work with them. They underpay, are tough to work with, and have very limited benefits. If you are desperate and just need a paycheck then go for it, but do not expect great things. I interviewed for a certain role and team at a disclosed rate. After my 1:1 interview with the client, I was told "No thanks." Following day, I heard they had another role on a different team but at a much lower rate. Was desperate at the time and it was only for 6 weeks so thought why not as I could use the money. Go in on the first day, and I am on the original team I interviewed for who told me "no", but now at a significantly reduced rate. Was told the rate was appropriate because I was doing lower-level type work (which ended up being false). Thought it was crummy but, it was only 6 weeks so whatever and I needed the money. At the start of the second week, I was told in a congratulatory email that my contract was being extended 4 more months by the middle company. Now I felt very irked and taken advantage of for the lower rate. I was on the same team, doing essentially the same work as others who were making nearly double what I was. I thanked them for letting me know of the extension, but that if I was going to stay on, the rate was going to need to be adjusted to what was originally offered for the role I originally interviewed for. Beyond questionable hiring practices, they seemed unsure how non-paid time off works, unclear about vacation policy, not sure about over-time, etc. Basically any logistical information you need, you will have to ask the right questions to the right people as standard information is not readily offered up. Pay is below market averages No PTO Life Insurance policy of only $15K Minimal sick-time accrual 1% 401K match
