Pros
If you do a Google News Search for Micro Focus, you'll find nearly all the results are stock trading bots and fake content. This is because the company _isn't really a software company_ - it's basically a glorified accounting trick, that is using established (and over-valued) legacy enterprise software to milk maintenance and support revenue. Buy up companies, cut costs, maintain support revenues, rinse, repeat. So, as a company, it's fine, I guess. I'm sure it will be profitable. Maybe buy some shares if that's your thing. There are a few really talented people who still work there because they aren't brave enough to leave. The products in the portfolio are old, but there are some gems in there.

As a place to work, it's very demoralising. It require a high level of delusion to convince yourself that you are going to grow and thrive in this environment. Layoffs are commonplace. If you have a broader vision for software, or you want to build something great, you won't find any of that here. Customers looking for support will always find it, but customers looking for direction will be perpetually disappointed. If you're in a customer facing role, this can be quite the tap-dance.
