The company’s emphasis over the past 5 years has been to cut expenses instead of focusing on growth as in other great pre-ipo companies. Unfair US wage structure where every city in the US is considered 1 labor market so employees in metropolitan cities risk being paid below local market value. No pay adjustments for ICs that get promoted to managers. Claims that it’s not in their policy. Half a week of pay for paternal leave with hesitation on granting government PFL. A culture of secretive non open communication from management. No emphasis on continuous training (no budget for taking professional courses, etc) Rarely would the company use industry standard software or tools to help promote work productivity. This makes it difficult for employees to gain relevant skills that can be used for careers outside of Metaswitch if you stay there for too long.
