Pros
I was granted the position almost immediately. Few personnel at night shift. Pay was good to start - $18.21. People are supportive. Thank God Almighty (Who gave me the job) I was let go after three months.
Kontras
No communication between shifts, or basically poor. No communication within Plant sections. Inefficient supervision by those in charged of, except for assisting in reporting production through an antiquated software, operating an even more failure prone thermal printer. Little understanding of processes - in which there are no written guidelines - and only superficial knowledge, which operators use to make machines "do" what they are designed to. They seem to lack the knowledge of "how" and "why" their programing the machines accomplishes their tasks. As a result, poorly executed cuts ruin parts, augment their waste level and cause confusion between Engineering and labour. There is little or no technical support for operators (no tools or materials to do their job with). Third world work mentality. Work is very hard and inefficiently managed. Except for Supervisory level, spoken English is hardly fluent and understood; written one is poor, making communications, a disaster. Procedures are tribal, hardly written. Very few Electrical boxes have ID names on them. Maintenance is inexistent: only catastrophic repairs are performed. Environment is dangerous to work on. Material handling is unplanned.
