I interviewed here but we did not come to terms. Never worked there. You may get some technical accounting and tax code insights and training regarding Section 8 housing and other federally subsidized affordable housing projects. A lot of very hands-on daily accounting tasks as there does not seem to be a lot of staff to delegate to (a con?). You might even get an opportunity to invest in some of these projects, if you have the cash lying around.

As Controller there is no place to move up to here. Very apparent the Boss can be overbearing. IMO, this is the reason even his daughter opts not to come back and run this very successful family business. His desk is so large that anyone meeting with him in his office will be uncomfortably squeezed - you cannot sit square with legs out front, let alone be relaxed. I think this is intentional, and it makes even innocuous meetings uncomfortable. But if you connect with and can relate to the guy it could be a good opportunity. Check the reviews for DDCM in Laguna HIlls, they are related entities and all under the same parent comany you'd be working for.
