if you don't continue to fit the clique mentality you get singled out for termination. All the management are best friends who drink, party and travel together like a family so the room for advancement was almost non-existent. Plus they will tell you that you are doing great and then just fire you.
They send frequent emails letting the whole company know who has "departed" which is a morale killer since they have moved way too fast with acquisitions and ruined the whole companies overall culture. Hard workers are rarely recognized and only the friends of the management get raises and new positions. I was once told after applying for an internal position, thanks for meeting with us but we designed this role for "insert person here" and we are giving it to him. Real nice.
On top of all that you are expected to be available all day every day if something happens with one of your projects/clients. Maintenances are driven after hours and because the positions were salary you could work 8 extra hours overnight with zero extra compensation.
