Pros

Free membership to a beautiful facility, nice members, fun work at times

Below average pay considering what the responsibilities are, you’ll have to deal with a lot of entitled leaders and managers, toxic culture where everyone is always “telling on each other” and throwing each other under the bus. Other departments have issues with achieving revenue goals so the leaders pressure their staff to the point of torture to generate income and bonuses for them. It’s a job at a gym after all, no matter how nice the facility is there is not a lot of stimulating conversation or intellectual interaction.

Nice coworkers and accommodating management, amazing benefits and access to gym, fun work environment and good bartender training

Kontras

Schedule made a month in advance and very difficult to switch shifts when it was finalized

Pros

Members are great and free membership is a perk. Coworkers are supportive.

Kontras

You will be micromanaged to death, whether you have three weeks of experience or 20 years. Policies are vague. Communication with leadership is poor. You can be a strong, experienced performer and have very few classes, or brand new and get 8 a week. There appears to be no logic or strategy to anything that happens.
