Pros
The work done by Labcorp, specifically in the bioanalytical department, was meaningful and applicable to current health care. Lots of helpful, knowledgeable people make the experience a bit better
Kontras
The biggest con is training, both for unfamiliar techniques and company specific processes. Employees are shown how to do a technique once, they perform it with a trainer watching once, and then they are expected to be able to use that technique with no assistance, including troubleshooting. There is never any information given on who can help with certain types of issues. Most of the company specific processes and troubleshooting techniques are not written down anywhere, so there is no documentation to learn or refer back to. These skills are just transferred from person to person as they become relevant. The organization in the labs is very poor. Sample are tracked closely, but anything else requires the employee to physically go into lab and look in any number of most likely places. It wastes time and effort and leads to redoing some work if materials cannot be found.
