If you are young, the company will take advantage of your inexperience. They will pay you less, not offer raises for longer periods of time, and throw you into work with little to no training. The turnover in this company has been climbing in the past year due to the CEO's unwillingness to take money from the business that their employees generate and invest in their employees through training and compensation. The benefits are lacking on a number of levels and there is no standard of management practices. People in one department are punished for certain things that other people in different departments continue to do with no consequences. Friends and family of upper level management are given larger raises, more advancement opportunities, and general favoritism. If you think this is due to their experience and credentials you are wrong. In almost every department there are people who are very good at their jobs who are not given opportunities because they are not 1) family 2) friends of the family or 3) fit into the cookie cutter mold of the 'ideal employee' in appearance. People who work for the company that see all of these things going on are too scared to say anything for fear of being fired.
