Pros
- Lots of opportunities to grow and learn a lot as you'll receive many projects and a ton of responsibility while being expected to hit the ground running and deliver with perfection with little to no training (fun!)
- Work from home and flexible work arrangements are plentiful.
- Some in-person social events (these were actually fun)
- Associates and senior consultants are more fun/easy to work with and in-touch with what really mattered for clients
Kontras
- Scarce learning and development trainings (not as important so long as your managers are training associates and being forgiving/not micromanaging and punishing for mistakes due to improper, formalized trainings)
- Not innovative (e.g. minimal usage of automation--not just tech management systems but also outdated policies that mirror what innovation looked like in the 2000s, stale bread culture)
- Poor work-life balance (see lack of outsourcing/tech adoption)
- Unsupportive HR policies and benefits (e.g. leave policies, bonuses)
- Out-of-touch, self-interested upper-level leadership
