Pros
You can easily build a career here and transition to different roles that interest you. The environment is much more positive than other banks where I've worked. Most teams are flexible with remote work, which is great. Rarely is anyone unprofessional or rude. Compensation is really variable depending on your area.
Kontras
Like most corporate jobs, it's really hard to get a decent raise while staying in the same role or team. Disincentivizes developing expertise in one area because the only time you can really negotiate is in the hiring process. Otherwise, you take whatever small raise they give annually. People who stay in the same role for years are wildly underpaid for this reason. I'd love to have stayed in some of my prior roles, but I'd be making a lot less if I had. The re-orgs have been frustrating and not always well thought out so that folks who survive the layoffs can be demoralized and set up for failure. Only offer high deductible healthcare plans, but that seems to be standard for publicly-traded banks, unfortunately.
