Pros
Because the company is perpetually a mess, junior employees get to learn many things by doing, where they wouldn’t have otherwise had the chance.
Potential travel to cool places?
Kontras
Senior leadership repeats the unhealthy habits that get us into unhealthy situations, so the company has been through many cycles of boom and bust. In the ‘boom’ it seems like everything will work out, and in the ‘bust’ we try to find someone to blame who left the company. The turnover rate is crazy high, especially for the experienced people, which tells you about all you need to know. I ignored the red flags or looked for the good for a long time, but if this company is ever going to succeed (not just make money), drastic changes will need to take place. And one particular senior leader is in no place to make these changes.
If you’re interviewing here, beware. Pay attention to your gut if you notice something is off. Don’t be lured in by benefits or a vague vision of success unless you’re really confident the company has changed.
