Despite all their research showing the need for good jobs with progression, there is little chance of progression while working at JRF. They have no pay reviews or functioning appraisal system. Most people haven't had a payrise for years and are stuck at the top of their pay grades. There's nothing you can do to move up pay scales once you've joined. They also favour full-time people for promotions over part-time, particularly after maternity leave. Part-timers feel ignored, stuck and taken for granted.
